Application of Seaweed Extract
Seaweed polysaccharides are the most abundant component in seaweed and are also an important indicator component in seaweed fertilizer. They have multiple functions. First, seaweed polysaccharides have strong hydrophilicity, which can bind moisture in the soil and improve the soil aggregate structure, thereby reducing soil water vapor pressure and evaporation rate, which is beneficial to soil moisture retention and helps control soil compaction; second, these active ingredients can increase soil organic matter, improve soil quality, and enhance soil productivity; third, these active ingredients have the effect of improving crop resistance and promoting crop growth. For example, seaweed polysaccharides can adhere to the roots of crops and form an active water film, which is beneficial to root growth, thereby increasing the ability of crops to absorb water and fertilizer, providing more water and fertilizer for crop growth. A developed root system also enhances the drought resistance of crops; fourth, seaweed polysaccharides have certain adhesiveness and film-forming properties.
